Assignment Context Are you passionate about gender equality? Do you have business management skills to share? As the Innovation Management Advisor with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program in Accra, Ghana, you will provide support to develop strategies with the business transformative process and provide timely and adequate business support to small medium enterprises in Ghana with a focus on youth. Roles and Responsibilities Support National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP) to develop a comprehensive growth strategy of business ideas and innovations from existing and new entrepreneurs Support in the development of a viable pilot for youth businesses and innovations from incubation to maturity Collaborate with the team to develop tools and processes to capture the results of its impact on youth innovations and supported enterprises Provide training to staff on innovation management strategies Use a gender equality lens in all stages of program design and implementation Support the organization to consider meaningful inclusion of program participants Work with the partner to not only mitigate environmental risk, but also identify opportunities to engage in greener programming Participate in pre-assignment training Participate in at least 3 public engagement initiatives before, during, or after the assignment. Volunteers will be equipped with the tools, training, and support to achieve these goals. Volunteers will also have one virtual check-in with the Public Engagement Officer throughout the course of their assignment Set up a personalized volunteer fundraising page on the WUSC fundraising platform and share it in your networks. Volunteers will be supported with the tools, training and support to achieve the fundraising goal Submit reports as required by the partner organization and by WUSC. Partner Description The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP) is a flagship policy initiative of the government of Ghana with the primary objective of providing integrated national support for start-ups and small businesses. NEIP primarily focuses on providing business development services; startup incubators and funding for young businesses to enable them to grow and become successful. The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP) is set within the context of Ghana’s long-term strategic vision of consolidating its middle-income status, building an industry-driven economy capable of providing decent jobs that are suitable and sustainable for development.
Certification or Education Required
Degree in Business Administration/Management or a related field Experience in business planning and coaching/training skills Experience working with a public sector organization is an asset Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience in your field of expertise A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering. excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity Experience living and working internationally considered an asset
