Dreamcatcher™ Nature-Assisted Therapy is looking for positive, enthusiastic, and fun individuals to harness their social skills and engage our community members in new and exciting activities. 

When are our events? 
We usually host our tourism events between May-October on Saturdays or Sundays. The dates are to be determined as we work diligently to plan and organize our future events. The duration of our events are usually between 4-8 hours.  

What will you be doing?
As an event volunteer, you will be our boots on the ground help for the event activities & operations! There are various roles that you may be able to do, but some of the duties may include:
- Assisting with setting up and tearing down of the event, market booth, and other activities
- Ensuring safe, fun interactions between guests and animals
- Providing on-site tours to program visitors and engaging them with stories about the animals
- Providing great customer service by answering guest questions about the program, organization, and animals
- Assisting with large events or private events such as Alberta Open Farm Days, Open Houses, Holiday Events, Partner Events, Birthday Parties, etc. 
- Animal handling for animal yoga, tours, animal stations, or other events
- Managing the market booth and selling merchandise
- Helping with cleaning up and decorating the magical forest (Pre-Season)
- Opportunities for leadership roles are available as well!

If you have a special skill or experience such as in face painting, crafting/painting, facilitating group activities or workshops, acting/role-playing, music, photography/videography, or anything else you think would be a cool activity and would like to offer your service, please let us know! 

Age Requirements:
- Must be 14+ to volunteer without parent/guardian
- Please inquire if you wish to volunteer with children under 12 (there may be some limitations)

Note: volunteers must have the own reliable transportation to and from the ranch as we currently do not have access to public transportation bussing in our area.

Additional Details & Skills Required
Mostly flexible, the events are scheduled but volunteers are scheduled based on availability. Volunteers must attend our annual training session (if recruited before hosting), shadow shifts will be provided and volunteers will not have to do a task that they are not trained or comfortable doing.
Certification or Education Required
None required. Assets: First aid, being certified in your special skill (if any), having previous experience with animal handling or with farm animals, any outdoor/animal education.
