IT Support Specialist (Volunteer)

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote
Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking IT Support Specialist to become a virtual volunteer member of our team. In this position, you will offer technical support to our team and volunteers, ensuring our digital tools and systems run smoothly and effectively. Working from a remote location, you will be responsible for resolving problems, overseeing IT assets, and playing a part in the overall achievement of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Offer technical support and aid to employees and volunteers, quickly and effectively solving any IT problems.
•	Diagnose software and hardware issues, provide users with solutions and guidance.
•	Help with setting up and configuring computers, software apps, and other IT gear.
•	Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights to guarantee security and adherence to regulations.
•	Keep precise documentation of IT support inquiries and solutions, making updates to the information repository when necessary.
•	Work together with team members to recognize areas in IT systems and processes that can be enhanced.
•	Engage in online meetings to share IT support updates and receive input.
•	Keep up with the newest technology trends and solutions to improve IT support capabilities.
•	Help create training materials and resources to assist users in maximizing the use of our digital tools.

Requirements:
•	Proven experience as an IT Support specialist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful IT support specialist campaigns.
•	Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
•	Capability to operate both alone and in a group setting in a digital space.
•	Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
•	Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•	Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.
•	Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
