Leadership Volunteer Coordinator

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote
Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: We are looking for a very organized and proactive Volunteer Coordinator to join our team as a virtual volunteer. In this position of leadership, you will be responsible for supervising the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers to guarantee the smooth operation of our programs and initiatives. While working from a distance, you will work together with team members to offer strategic guidance and assistance, improving our volunteer program and organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Create plans for attracting, training, and keeping volunteers to help achieve the organization's objectives and projects.
•	Organize volunteer training initiatives, offering assistance and materials to guarantee volunteers are adequately trained for their responsibilities.
•	Supervise volunteer schedules, assignments, and performance to ensure the efficient and effective completion of all tasks.
•	Act as the main contact for volunteers, dealing with any inquiries, worries, or problems they might have.
•	Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the volunteer program, offering feedback and suggesting ways to enhance it.
•	Work together with colleagues to recognize volunteer requirements and coordinate volunteer activities with the organization's goals.
•	Coordinate and lead online gatherings, occasions, and appreciation initiatives to involve and inspire volunteers.
•	Keep precise records of volunteer involvement, hours, and influence, guaranteeing the confidentiality and accuracy of data.
•	Stay informed about best practices in volunteer management and incorporate new ideas to enhance the volunteer experience.

Requirements:
•	Proven experience as an Administrator or similar role, with a strong portfolio.
•	Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
•	Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership in a virtual environment.
•	Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive volunteer environment.
•	Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
•	Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•	Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.
•	Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
