Gallery Guide (Leader - School Tours)
The Gallery Guide Assistant supports the delivery of School Tour experiences at the Art Gallery of Burlington. In this role, volunteers will welcome school groups (Kindergarten to Grade 12), lead guided tours, and help create a positive and engaging gallery experience. Training and ongoing staff support are provided. Time Commitment: One 2–3 hour shift weekly or bi-weekly Shifts typically take place Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday Scheduling will be based on tour bookings A minimum commitment of 6 months is suggested Key Responsibilities: Provide a warm, welcoming, and approachable environment for all visitors Attend training sessions related to exhibitions, programming, and visitor experience Support or independently guide tours for children and their accompanying adults Assist with workshops and maintain a clean and organized studio environment Skills & Qualifications: Experience or comfort with customer service is an asset Ability to read and interpret written materials (e.g., tour guides, exhibit notes) Confidence in speaking to groups is helpful - training will be provided Ability to work independently and within a team setting Additional Information: A daily parking pass will be provided for volunteer shifts. Vulnerable Sector Check is required
