About Us The Centre for Diverse Learners (CDL) is a registered non-profit organization supporting neurodiverse children, youth, and families across Hamilton and Halton. Our programs strengthen academic skills, social-emotional well-being, and community connection — so every learner feels seen, supported, and set up to thrive. Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to support the onboarding and ongoing communication for our volunteers. In this behind-the-scenes administrative role, you’ll help ensure volunteers feel welcomed, informed, and prepared for success in their placement. Must be 18+ with valid VSC. Looking for 2 positions, 5 hours minimum a week. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in HR, communications, education, or nonprofit administration — and who loves keeping things organized. Key Responsibilities Schedule and host Volunteer Overview Meetings (15–20 minutes) Send and track reference requests for all incoming volunteers Collect and record Vulnerable Sector Checks (VSC) Manage the volunteer onboarding inbox and respond to inquiries Send training modules and onboarding documents to new volunteers Maintain tracking lists for onboarding progress and compliance Send attendance follow-up emails when volunteer absences are reported Collaborate with the Program Team to support smooth transitions to sites
