Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator - Special Olympics BC Burnaby

Organization: Special Olympics BC - Burnaby Local Committee Location: Burnaby, BC Description: Are you passionate about supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and possess strong fundraising skills? Special Olympics BC Burnaby is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator to lead our fundraising efforts for the next year. This is an elected position by the Local membership, allowing you to make a significant impact on our community. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan. - Secure financial support from service clubs, corporations, and individual donors. - Organize and execute at least one major fundraising event annually. - Collaborate with the SOBC Provincial Office to access grants, sponsorships, and campaigns. - Participate in and promote provincial and national sponsor programs (Staples, Sobeys, LETR, etc.), ensuring sponsor benefits are delivered at the local level. - Partner with the Local Committee's Public Relations/Media Coordinator, Treasurer, -Volunteer Coordinator, and Athlete Coordinator to coordinate fundraising initiatives and events. - Present regular fundraising updates at monthly Local Committee meetings. Qualifications: - Proven experience in fundraising and event planning. - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. - Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and Special Olympics' mission.
