Volunteer Board of Director

We are recruiting Board Directors with governance experience along with expertise in the following areas: professional fundraising, Indigenous relations, non-profit leadership, and/or lived experience with human trafficking. Serving as a volunteer on the Board of Directors provides an opportunity to contribute to a critical issue and make a difference. Awareness of human trafficking is an asset but not required. Prior board experience is of value. We are seeking candidates who embody the following key attributes: 1. Connection to Cause – Personal lived experience or a strong, authentic connection to the issues ACT Alberta addresses, especially as it relates to supporting marginalized communities and individuals. 2. Indigenous Experience & Relations – Knowledge and respect for Indigenous cultures, history, and ways of life, with a commitment to fostering strong Indigenous relationships. 3. Embraces a culture of equity, inclusion and diversity. Expectations: Serving as a Director will involve a contribution of time, specific skills, and financial networking and/or resources. We include our Board of Directors in a culture of giving to propel our organization forward in 2025 and beyond. The Board of Directors meets virtually bi-monthly for board meetings and in the off months for committee work.
