More Calgarians are living longer, healthier lives. To meet this new reality, we need to find innovative approaches to deliver on the opportunities and challenges of an aging population. Age-Friendly Calgary is a collective impact initiative that is supported by the City of Calgary as the backbone organization. Community Partners work across six local priority areas through action teams and aligned initiatives to help Calgary become a more Age-Friendly City.

Age-Friendly Calgary is an initiative to prepare for Calgary's aging population. It is a collaboration between several community service providers, Calgary citizens and other stakeholders. It was formed in June 2015, when the Seniors Age-Friendly Strategy was approved by Calgary City Council. Age-Friendly Calgary includes the input and participation of older adults at every stage of its development. The direction of work is led by a Steering Committee comprised of all levels of government, Health systems, Post-secondary education and research, the private and non-profit sector and community members.
