Program Details:
Our IndigeNight groups meet to build community by connecting, sharing, and supporting young people. The goal of IndigeNight is a group offered to support indigenous cultural awareness and teachings. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Youth mentors at The Alex Youth Health Centre are adult individuals responsible for contributing to creating programs to improve our young people's well-being by being role models that can support them in building relationships/connections, advocating, and helping them navigate systems and resources in the community.

As a Indigenight Mentor you will provide support with planning, set up and take down/clean-up of weekly groups. As well as liaise with Youth Health Centre staff and provide mentorship to youth. Finally, you will support staff and interact with young people while building relationships before during and after the group on a weekly basis.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and/or Experience:
- Excellent listener who is trustworthy, caring, responsible, and positive.
- Understanding of Indigenous issues including strong cultural knowledge and ceremonial experience.
- Knowledge of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC) 94 Calls to Action is an asset
- Preference will be given to individuals with lived experience or experience supporting young people. 
- Preference will be given to those who self-identify as Indigenous.
