At Bright Lights For Africa Foundation (BLFA), we drive lasting change through our core programs. Our Community Uplift initiatives empower individuals with education, skill-building, and sustainable development projects for resilience. Our Essential Needs Support program provides resources to those facing economic hardship, enhancing well-being and security. Through our Black Francophone Support, we offer specialized programs that foster inclusivity and empowerment within Black Francophone communities. We aim to create a positive, equitable impact for all.

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a compassionate Community Care Volunteer to assist with BLFA's outreach and food programs. In this role, you will:
Grocery Shopping: Use provided lists to purchase groceries for families, considering dietary needs and budget guidelines, and submit receipts for reimbursement.

Food Hamper Packaging: Carefully pack grocery items into labeled care packages and work with the team to maintain a smooth packaging process.

Food Hamper Delivery: Deliver care packages to homes on schedule, offering respectful and supportive interactions with recipients.

This role offers an opportunity to engage with the community meaningfully, helping make a positive impact on those facing economic challenges.

The following 2 shifts are available to volunteers:
8am to 12 pm - Grocery shopping and and Food hampers packaging
12pm to 3pm - Food hampers delivery
Note: Volunteers can choose both shifts or the shift that aligns with their availability and preferences. Volunteers will be reimbursed for kilometers driven during food delivery.

Qualifications:
Compassionate and empathetic individuals committed to making a positive impact in the community.
Reliable and punctual with excellent time management skills.
Ability to follow guidelines and work collaboratively in a team setting.
Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license for food delivery is an asset.
Good physical stamina for tasks such as lifting and carrying groceries.
