The Calgary Climate Hub was created to support and influence City of Calgary planning and processes to ensure citizens are engaged, that sufficient resources are provided, and that plans are adequate to meet climate targets. We believe that a broad and diverse range of Calgarians and organizations need to be engaged on the climate crisis to develop impactful solutions that fit our unique political and economic circumstances.

The Hub is member-driven – our members identify the key areas we need to focus on, and they choose to lead areas/nodes they’re passionate about. These include building partnerships with other nonprofits, community groups, outreach to individuals, businesses and organizations via canvassing and door-knocking to start climate conversations, event planning, as well as nodes on renewable energy, on sustainable transportation and local politics, as well as advocacy to promote dialogue on climate action during election campaigns.

Volunteers also assist with fundraising (including helping with grant applications) and supporting our operations and communication (data entry, social media, website, writing blog articles.)
