Calgary Stampede - Caravan Committee: Breakfast Service

Ongoing
Volunteer - Calgary Stampede Caravan Committee: Breakfast Service

Why the Caravan Committee?

The Calgary Stampede Caravan Committee is a group of 150 volunteers who transform parking lots into western events, serving pancake breakfasts for over 100,000 people every Stampede. Caravan has the privilege of providing western hospitality to diverse communities in the city and its surrounding areas, with the goal of inspiring guests to visit the Stampede and discover more, while also providing a full festival experience for those unable to do so.
A Caravan breakfast is much more than two pancakes and a sausage - bringing pony rides, agriculture activities, live music, a ton of fun (plus some shenanigans) and the spirit of the Calgary Stampede out to the community.

Position Summary

The Caravan Committee is looking for several enthusiastic volunteers to join our breakfast service crew. The duties are as diverse as the volunteers, and may include everything from cooking pancakes, to working with the ponies, to assisting with our live stage show or kids’ zone activities. Our portion of the Greatest Outdoor Show begins the first Saturday of Stampede and runs through to the following Saturday. Our mornings begin at 7am when we set-up to host our breakfast event from 9am-11am; by noon everything is cleaned up and we are ready to head back to CAMP CARAVAN for a team lunch and to pack for the next day!
