Phone Friends Volunteer

Not all friendships need to be face-to-face. Phone Friends offers a lifeline of social connection for seniors who may be isolated due to mobility challenges, home conditions, or uncertainty about accessing social programs. 

Using a one-to-one match model, each senior is paired with the same volunteer for every call, ensuring continuity and trust in the relationship. A flexible and impactful program, Phone Friends allows volunteers to call from anywhere—even while traveling or during a lunch break at work. Calls are typically weekly or regular check-ins, offering reassurance, companionship, and a chance to feel heard. Many seniors depend on these calls for comfort, security, and social engagement, and for some, it’s their only connection to the outside world.
