The CNIB Vision Mate program is recruiting for a volunteer in Vulcan to support a gentleman with sight loss to go walking in the community. If you enjoy conversation, fresh air and community connection, this could be the perfect fit for you.


Who you are:
- A friendly, kind and empathetic individual with a couple of hours to spare during the week
- A reliable individual that is open and willing to learn about the experiences of others

What you will do:
- Meet an individual weekly for an hour or two, at time that suits you both
- Accompany this individual on walks in the community of Vulcan for some light activity and friendly conversation

Additional Details & Skills Required

Training involves a pre-recorded online training video (1 hour), followed by an in-person training session where you will learn and practice sighted guide techniques (2 hours). This can be done remotely, if needed
