Volunteer Job Description 
Overview
Our Computabilities program is designed to support adults with handling their computer and Ipad usage, through demonstrations, and simplification of complex instruction through descriptions and examples.
Volunteer Opportunities 
Cerebral Palsy Alberta (CPAA) offers volunteer opportunities for all commitment levels including one-time events, ongoing programs, or office-based work. Volunteers play a fundamental role in the programs and services that we offer to our members and the community. There is an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to become volunteers.

Responsibilities as an assistant to the Therapist.
•	Demonstrate flexibility while adapting to the diversity of the member’s abilities, computer knowledge, interests and lifestyle.
•	Offering support, suggestions and interaction
•	You may work with several clients throughout the program.
•	You will assist the instructor in making the client’s experience memorable.
•	Completing evaluations on member participation and overall program
•	Be playful and engaged.
•	Enjoy interacting with clients and help them when needed.

Time Commitment and location
•	The course is on-going. 
•	Programs are 1 hour x 2 on Fridays, at our Edmonton office.  #103, Telus Tower North, 10025 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, beginning at 11am.

Requirements
•	Must be 18 years-old or older. 
•	Excellent communication skills.
•	Be aware of on-site Health & Safety requirements.
•	You are required to provide a current and clear Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector check. (See below)




Working Conditions

•	Working in a program room environment.
•	Adapt to all types of situations as it relates to the client’s needs.

2.Criminal Reference check including Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory.
Every volunteer needs to file an ONLINE application with the police service which comprises of a police check and vulnerable sector check. (both part of the same application).  We will provide you with the link.
