Overview
Make a difference in a child's life with Cerebral Palsy Alberta's Splash Time Aqua Therapy Program! We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our aqua therapy sessions, designed for children with disabilities aged 2 to 12. This unique program, held in a warm water pool, aims to enhance the therapeutic benefits of aquatic therapy under the guidance of a qualified aqua therapist.

Your Role as a Volunteer:
Commitment: Your consistency is key to the children’s progress and enjoyment.
Training: Receive guidance on working with children from a certified therapist.
Child Partnership: Be paired with a child for the duration of the program, or assist different children as needed.
Engagement: Help create a fun and memorable experience for the children.
Teamwork: Work closely with the therapist and seek guidance when needed.

Time Commitment and Location:
Duration: 12-week program (excluding April 9 and May 17)
When: Thursdays from 4.15 - 5.45 pm
Where: Don Wheaton YMCA, 10211-102 Avenue, Edmonton

Requirements:
Age: Must be 18 years or older.
Swimming: Experience is an asset but not mandatory. Must be comfortable in water. 
Physical Condition: Able to support a child in the pool.
Communication: Strong communication skills.
Reliability: Punctuality and commitment are essential.
Health & Safety: Adherence to on-site safety protocols and informing us of any health issues.
Background Check: Successful candidates must provide a clear a Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (completed online and cost covered).

Working Conditions:
Environment: Heated pool setting.
Safety: Awareness of surroundings and standing water to prevent slips and injuries.
