Help make Cliff Bungalow-Mission the best community in Calgary!
Did you know CBMCA has been around since 1978? That’s 46 years of social events, environmental initiatives and protecting our community’s heritage! We love what we do and welcome new voices. The CBMCA board of directors is a dedicated group of volunteers who meet monthly to support the organization’s activities and events. We have a few opportunities coming open: Director at Large The best way to get your feet wet if you’ve never been on a board before or want to get established in CBMCA before taking on a portfolio. You’ll come to the meetings, join the discussions and vote on initiatives. Director, Planning and Development This is a very important role. The Planning and Development Committee reviews proposed developments in the community and determines CBMCA’s response. It often meets with owners and developers to better understand their perspective and to have a robust discussion with them. These discussions and our comments can help improve what is being proposed and protect our community’s heritage. Director, Communications CBMCA speaks to the community via a monthly newsletter and through social media, keeping residents up to date on events and news that impact our community. Director, Heritage Cliff Bungalow-Mission is a historic community and this important role helps raise awareness by providing a heritage perspective on proposed new developments, managing the community heritage plaque program, and engaging the community through the newsletter and social media. Director, Social This is the fun portfolio. It brings our community together through events like movies in the park, potluck dinners, and the Jazz Under the Cliff series.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Being a volunteer puts you in the heart of community events and news and gives you a say in what we do.
