ComIT
ComIT is a charitable organization on a mission to help change the lives of unemployed and underemployed Canadians by providing free technology and professional skills training that will help them secure in-demand careers in technology in their community.
We run our three-month, part-time courses in communities across the country, tailoring them based on the technology needs and demands of local employers to ensure our graduates are developing skills that will set them up for success in their local job market.
Our programs are 100% scholarship-based and free for students that qualify, based on our programs' eligibility criteria.
Students are required to attend classes about 8 hours/week, do considerable homework, and create a piece of software as a final project and proof of the skills they have learned. Upon graduation, students are expected to apply for jobs and network in addition to any help ComIT can provide in contacting employers who are open to interviewing recent graduates
