Crohn's and Colitis Canada - Gutsy Walk Refreshments Captain, Calgary

Gutsy Walk is Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s signature national fundraising event celebrated on the first Sunday of June each year. Thousands of people across Canada come together on one day to raise money to advance medical research and improve the lives of Canadians who are affected by these diseases. The Calgary Gutsy Walk Committee is seeking a Food and Refreshment Captain: • Lead the food and refreshment distribution at the event • Collaborate with other Gutsy Walk committee members to determine food & beverage requirements/ quantities • Secure food and refreshment service items through in-kind donations where possible (e.g. BBQ, propane, generator, napkins, utensils, water containers) • Develop and lead the execution of an event day schedule for food and refreshment distribution, delivery, pick-up, set-up, and clean up • Provide on-site training to volunteers while ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to • Act as the key point person for food and refreshment deliveries on-site • Be an active participant in all Committee meetings • Participate in webinar trainings offered nationally to be familiar with processes and tools available to you • Act as a role model by registering for Gutsy Walk and supporting fundraising, directly or indirectly (by sharing new ideas and leads, doing your own fundraising, promoting the event amongst your network) • Work in partnership with fellow committee members to consider food and beverage options that reflect the dietary needs of Gutsy Walk participant • Approximately 4-8 hours a month including monthly committee meetings, with additional meetings leading up to event day and a post-event wrap up meeting • Some evening and weekend activity is required for vendor and supply sourcing • Some daytime availability is ideal for making phone calls and responding to emails
