National Online Auction Volunteer

Volunteers play an integral role in delivering our promise of finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of Canadians living with these chronic diseases. As a volunteer with Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, the impact of your efforts will be felt by the millions of Canadians affected by Crohn's or colitis today, and for years to come.  

We are incredibly excited to be holding our 1st annual National Online Auction November 14 to November 23, 2024. The National fundraiser will take place virtually across Canada with each region showcasing their own items up for bid.  

We are seeking individuals passionate about making a difference in their community to join a team of dedicated volunteers in the role of National Online Auction Volunteer.  

As the National Online Auction Volunteer, you will collaborate with your regional staff partner on the National Online Auction to raise funds for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new national campaign to solicit and obtain auction items in your local community. Whether you’re a keen organizer, like making phone calls or prefer helping out behind the scenes, this is a great and easy way to get involved in our cause and we can suite the position to your unique skills. Please note that all Crohn’s and Colitis Canada volunteers must adhere to our volunteer policies and procedures, including our Volunteer Code of Conduct.  

Location: Edmonton & Calgary regions 
Time Commitment : 2-5 hours per week for ongoing support and liaison with staff partner with flexibility to fit your schedule. This role will conclude upon the close of the auction at the end of November.

Role Duties:
•	Soliciting and obtaining silent auction items from local businesses
•	Holding and organizing items before and during the auction
•	Writing item descriptions
•	Taking/sourcing photos of items for the website
•	Supporting data entry of auction items into our hibid software
•	Supporting promotion of the auction
•	Arranging pickup of items with auction winners
•	Shipping of items as necessary (expenses will be reimbursed)
