In 1989, CUPS opened its doors. It was a place where Calgarians experiencing poverty and trauma could get basic medical care and referral services. Since then we’ve helped thousands of clients, but over 30 years later, the city has changed – and CUPS has changed too. We’ve moved beyond providing basic services to an evidence-based,
integrated care approach that helps individuals and families build resilience in all areas of their lives.

CUPS provides integrated health, education and housing services to low-income Calgarians living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events.

While our work is rooted in the science of brain development, our passion is helping people effectively address their challenges, build resilience and ultimately become self-sufficient.
