Join Deaf & Hear Alberta’s Board of Directors Deaf & Hear Alberta (DHA) has proudly served Calgary, Edmonton, and other Alberta communities for over 60 years, addressing accessibility, advocacy, education, and communication needs for the Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing populations. We are seeking passionate, strategic leaders to join our Board of Directors and help shape a future of greater inclusivity and opportunity. OUR VISION: A world where the Deaf, hard of hearing & those at risk of hearing loss are recognized & respected so they can fully participate in society. OUR MISSION: To bring together Deaf, hard of hearing & hearing Albertans with service and technology solutions to advance access and opportunity. Board Member Qualifications We seek candidates with expertise in the following areas: • Financial Expertise: Budgeting, financial management, private equity, and investment strategy • Legal Expertise & Government Regulations: Strong knowledge of legal frameworks and regulatory compliance • Strategic Planning & Governance: Experience guiding organizational goals and initiatives at a governance level Additional experience in the following areas is highly valued: • Developing social enterprises • Previous service on a non-profit governance board • Connection to or within the Deaf and hard of hearing community
