FACE Alberta is a non-profit organization that provides a Conductive Education Program for children and youth with neuromotor disabilities. Our mission is to empower young individuals to achieve their fullest independence through a comprehensive, holistic approach called Conductive Education. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Board of Directors as Treasurer to help guide our financial strategy and ensure the long-term sustainability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Planning and Budgeting: Lead the annual financial planning and budgeting process to align with FACE Alberta’s goals and strategic priorities.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Provide quarterly (or as needed) financial reports and analysis to the Board of Directors, ensuring that the organization operates within its budgetary constraints.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee the management of FACE Alberta’s bank accounts and monitor cash flow to ensure efficient financial operations.
• Support for Bookkeeping: Work closely with the bookkeeper to ensure accurate record- keeping and financial documentation, providing support as needed.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and reporting standards for non-profit organizations.
• Performance Monitoring: Ensure the Board regularly monitors the organization’s financial performance and alerts it to any important discrepancies between planned and actual figures.
• Government Filings: Ensure that government tax filings and remittances are submitted on a timely basis.
• Co-Signatory: Serve as co-signor of cheques with at least one other signing officer.
• Annual Budget: Provide an annual budget to the board for members' approval and present the annual budget at the AGM.

Qualifications:
• Experience: Proven experience in financial management, accounting, professional accounting designation is preferred. Experience in non-profit financial management is a plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present insights clearly to the Board.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work
collaboratively with fellow board members and stakeholders.
• Commitment: Ability to commit to attending quarterly board meetings and occasional special meetings as needed.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with financial software or accounting systems is an asset.
Certification or Education Required
Proven experience in financial management, accounting, professional accounting designation is preferred. Experience in non-profit financial management is a plus.
