Garden Volunteers

219 19 Ave SW, Calgary, AB, T2S 0C8 [map]
1-3 hours / weekly
-
This individual must enjoy being outside in the garden and getting their hands a bit dirty. Duties vary season to season but basic garden maintenance and care are the expectations. Duties include but are not limited to: aerating, weeding, dead-heading, pruning, trimming, cleaning up around the gardens, sweeping what we disturb, watering, planting, and collaborating.

The garden volunteer ideally understands about Calgary plants and microclimates and is enthusiastic about asking questions and offering advice. Garden volunteers are always welcome to come alone but are encouraged to volunteer with a buddy.

We recommend that you have your own gloves and bring your own basic tools, if you have them, although we do have a “Garden Bucket” complete with some basic tools from our garden shed for volunteers to use.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Enjoy fresh air, stay active, and reduce stress while tending to the garden. Meet like-minded people, learn about Calgary’s plants, and hone your skills. Volunteers receive a certificate for hours completed (minimum 30 hours) and an invitation to our Donors & Volunteers Appreciation Brunch. Enjoy a peaceful retreat and complimentary refreshments! 🌿☕🎉
