Habitat for Humanity ReStore Distribution Centre "Generous Volunteer" (Saturdays)
Habitat for Humanity ReStores play an integral part in supporting the overall mission of Habitat for Humanity. Not only do they generate a significant amount of revenue for our operations (which support building more affordable homes for families!), they are also environmentally conscious as they divert a significant amount of waste materials from Calgary and area landfills (4,224 tons of waste in 2023 to be exact!). We are looking for volunteers to support our Distribution Centre (DC) every Saturday by helping as a "Generous Volunteer". Generous Volunteers help by: -Assisting with incoming donations (from individuals or larger deliveries) -Greeting donors as they arrive -Assisting donors by unloading their vehicle -Interacting with the public and thanking them for their donations (letting those customer service skills shine and representing Habitat positively!) -Sorting and pricing new donations -Making room for new donations and generally keeping the DC/warehouse neat, safe and tidy If you are looking for a volunteer role that keeps you active and allows you to give back in a meaningful way - look no further! Commitment: Regular commitment (once/week on Saturdays for min 3+ months)
