Hakili Community for Sustainable Development, a registered Canadian charity dedicated to addressing poverty and promoting education, seeks passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. 

- The Board chair provides leadership to the Board of Directors and ensures the Board's decisions and resolutions are carried out effectively. The Chair will also publicly represent Hakili and work closely with the CEO.
The vice chair supports the Board Chair in their duties and steps into the Chair's role in their absence. 
-The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at board meetings, maintaining non-financial records, and ensuring that the organization complies with its statutory obligations. 
-The treasurer oversees the organization's financial condition. They work closely with the Executive Director and the board to prepare budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure sound financial practices.
 Ideal candidates should have: 

 1. Passion for the Mission: The candidate should deeply commit to addressing poverty and promoting education. They should believe in the power of community-led solutions and sustainable change. 

 2. Understanding of the Community: As a black-led charity, Hakili values candidates who understand the unique challenges faced by the communities it serves. This could come from personal experience, professional work, or a demonstrated commitment to social justice. 

3. Multidisciplinary Skills: Given Hakili’s multidisciplinary approach, candidates with diverse skills and experiences would be valuable. This could include backgrounds in education, social work, technology, non-profit management, community development, or other relevant fields. 

4. Leadership and Collaboration Skills: The candidate should be able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborate with diverse groups of people, and lead initiatives or projects. 

5. Strategic Thinking: The candidate should be able to contribute to the strategic direction of Hakili, helping to devise solutions with generational impact.
