Equine Support Volunteer/ Horse Handling

• Assist with horse care, tacking, and handling before and after Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions. • Ensure horses are ready and prepared for interaction with participants in programs such as Youth EAL, Indigenous Youth EAL, and Seniors Lunch EAL. • Lead and guide horses during programs, maintaining a calm environment and ensuring the safety and comfort of both horses and participants. • Assist staff in helping to manage horse behavior and mitigate safety concerns. • Assist with the grooming, cleaning tack, and general maintenance of horses before and after Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions. • Support paddock maintenance, which includes ensuring horses have a clean and safe environment. • Ensure grooming supplies and equipment are cleaned, organized, and well-maintained. • Monitor horse behavior and physical condition during grooming sessions to identify issues that may need attention from facilitators or Staff.
