Youth Soccer Coach (Under 10 to Under 12 Kids)

The Spartans Soccer Club is a club located in the North East of Calgary. We are a non-profit organization powered fully by volunteers who are passionate about the beautiful game. We believe the game is for everyone. https://www.spartansfca.com/

We are currently looking for numerous dedicated volunteer youth soccer coaches to coach under our developmental program for kids between Under 10 to Under 12 ages. The position can be a head coach or assistant coaches. We want someone with a positive mindset, open to feedback and willing to learn where possible to assist the growth of our children. 

If you're passionate and don't know how to coach but interested in making an impact, we are committed to support you through your coaching journey and will assist with training via the Alberta soccer coaching programs. So don't be overwhelmed by responsibilities below. 

Mandatory Requirements
- Must complete police clearance
- Must complete Criminal Record Check
- Must complete Respect in Sports
- Must be able to coach thrice a week (2 practices and 1 game)

Head Coach/Assistant Coach
- Lead, Mentor & Manage children/parents in a positive manner
- Create a calm & power a positive environment where children can thrive
- Provide & maintain a safe space for athletes to practice, perform and thrive
- Design & Execute a training model for the team/players prior to and throughout the season
- Be proactive and Clearly communicate coaching plan and focus for the season to parents/players, prior to season start
- Coach and educate players on key principles of the game, skills and technique required to excel
- Assess squad/players and provide meaningful/constructive feedback to parents/players
Complete required coaching courses to ensure compliance with Alberta Soccer Association
- Provide & maintain a safe space for athletes to practice, perform and thrive
- Ensure all players are representing the club with the appropriate sporting apparel and safety gear (cleats, indoor shoes & shin guards)
- Prepare the players for gameday with the appropriate coaching methods during practice and matchday
