Ongoing
Join the fun and make a lasting difference with the Start2Finish Running & Reading Club—an engaging after-school program that supports literacy, healthy active living, and play for children ages 6–13 (Grades 1–6). With just two hours one afternoon a week, you’ll build meaningful connections while helping students develop confidence, stay engaged in school, and experience the power of encouragement from caring adults and mentors. Whether you’re a university or college student looking to gain experience and give back, or an older adult seeking purpose, connection, and community, your volunteer engagement will make a lasting impact in the lives of the children and your local community far beyond the program day. You don’t need to be a runner—there’s a role for everyone! As a Volunteer Mentor, you’ll: - Participate in fun fitness activities - Read one-on-one with children - Help serve healthy snacks - Lead or support engaging literacy games and activities
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
- Give back to the community in a meaningful way - Meet new people and develop friendships and professional contacts - Skill and personal development - Develop a sense of accomplishment - Reference letter upon request (minimum 1 term volunteering required) - Enhance your health and well-being - Have fun!
