Spotlight Operator for Once On This Island
Storybook is looking for spotlight operators for our production of The Heathers the Musical. Spotlight operators are an important part of the production and we thank you for volunteering! Spot Ops MUST be available for at least ONE of the following tech rehearsal dates between May 5th-7th, as well as at least 4 shows throughout the run. If you are not available for one of these training dates, please email volunteer@storybooktheatre.org to make alternate arrangements. Times posted are SHOW TIMES- Spot Op calls are based on level of experience, to allow for practice, if needed. Experienced operators are usually called 1 hour before curtain. All spot operators must be 14 years or older. For Spot Operators volunteering for any performance, we may also ask for your assistance at intermission, as required, as follows: Concession Duties include, but are not limited to: Distribution of drinks and snacks Handling small monetary transactions Raffle Sales Duties (18+) include, but are not limited to Selling raffle tickets Handling small monetary transactions For Spot Operators volunteering on School Matinee performances, we may also ask for your assistance with ushering duties before the show, as required, as follows: Ushering Duties include, but are not limited to: Handing out programs Showing patrons to their seats By signing up, all volunteers are agreeing to the policies laid out in StoryBook Theatre's Code of Conduct You can apply right now by visiting our website and clicking on the position you’re interested in! Additional Details & Skills Required
Spot Ops must 14 years old or older, and capable of working by themselves in a professional environment. Spot Ops will need to listen for the Stage Manager's cues and follow them appropriately. Spot Ops must be capable of standing for short periods of time to operate the spotlight, and comfortable with wearing a headset to listen for the Stage Manager's cues. Spotlight Operators will be working with other volunteers and crew and are expected to act with professionalism at all times.
Certification or Education Required
Spot Ops will be provided with training on how to operate the spotlight.
