Good Food Box - Sunalta Evening Pick Up

The Good Food Box Program, (GFB) is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary, whereby anyone can purchase boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables at an affordable price. The Good Food Box Program offers a hands-up approach, opposed to a hands-out. We offer all Calgarians and those in the surrounding areas, access to sustainable nutritious boxes of fruits and vegetables, to ensure that no one has to go hungry. The boxes are assembled by dedicated volunteers, who along with The Community Kitchen, desire to see individuals and families accessing nutritious fruits and vegetables at an affordable price.

As a proud Good Food Box pick up depot, Sunalta values making healthy and affordable food options accessible. Typically these boxes are only available for pick up in the morning but if we can gather regular volunteers, we may be able to offer a pick up in the evening as well as the morning.

GFB pick ups occur approximately once per month with evening pick ups occurring from 5:00-7:00PM.

The Sunalta Community Association is committed to building an inclusive and diverse organization. We encourage people of all visible minorities, including Indigenous and Newcomer applicants, and those of any religion, sex, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression to apply.
Please reach out to grace@sunalta.net directly if you have any questions or concerns or to arrange for alternate accommodations.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
This is a quiet shift. The primary role of the volunteer is to oversee the pick up of Good Food Boxes from Sunalta. The boxes are delivered filled and assigned to the individuals who already ordered them. This role has an incredible impact on the community by providing an affordable food resource in an area with limited grocery options.

Volunteers have access to wifi and are welcome to do homework or other work during their shift.
