🌼 Intergenerational Companionship Volunteers Wanted – Make Meaningful Connections Across Generations 🌼
Are you a student, teen, or young adult looking to make a real difference? Do you believe that meaningful friendships can form across all ages? Join us as an Intergenerational Companion Volunteer and help bring joy, connection, and warmth to individuals living with dementia in our memory care community. Why It Matters: People living with memory loss may not remember your name, but they’ll remember how you made them feel. Your presence, your stories, your laughter—these can spark joy, reduce loneliness, and create beautiful moments of connection that transcend age and memory. What You’ll Do: • Spend one-on-one or small group time with residents living with dementia • Chat, play games, do crafts, look at photos, or just share a safe space • Bring your youthful energy, curiosity, and kindness • Learn from older generations while helping them feel seen and valued We Welcome: • Students (elementary, junior high, high school, college), youth groups, or families • Kind, respectful, and patient individuals • No experience needed training and support provided • Volunteers age 7+ with parental guidance & permission (if under 18) Location: The Manor Village at Varsity. Seniors Retirement Community Time Commitment: 1 hour a week / 1 hour every other week / 1 hour every 3 weeks / 1 hour once a month. Whatever time commitment you have available When: Weekday mornings / Weekday afternoons / Weekday evenings / Weekend mornings / Weekend afternoons
