π Volunteer Companions Needed β Bring Connection & Comfort to Those Living with Dementia π
Do you believe in the power of human connection? We're looking for kind-hearted volunteers to provide one-on-one companionship to individuals living with dementia in our memory care community. Why It Matters: Living with dementia can be confusing, isolating, and sometimes lonely. A friendly face, a gentle voice, or simply sitting together in silence can bring calm, joy, and a sense of belonging. Your time and presence can be a powerful gift. What Youβll Do: β’ Spend time with one resident at a time β’ Offer conversation, read aloud, look at photo books, go for short walks, play games, finish a puzzle, share stories, or simply sit together β’ Bring patience, kindness, and a warm, non-judgmental presence β’ Help us create moments of peace, joy, and connection Weβre Looking for People Who Are: β’ Compassionate, reliable, and respectful β’ Comfortable around individuals with memory loss (no prior experience required training provided!) β’ Good listeners who understand the value of simply being present β’ Open to learning and growing through meaningful human connection This is a quiet kind of volunteering, but a deeply impactful one. Your presence can make a world of difference. Location: The Manor Village at Varsity. Seniors Retirement Community. Time Commitment: 1 hour a week / 1 hour every other week / 1 hour every 3 weeks / 1 hour once a month. Whatever time commitment you have available. When: Weekday mornings / Weekday afternoons / Weekday evenings / Weekend mornings / Weekend afternoons
