πŸ’› Volunteer Companions Needed – Bring Connection & Comfort to Those Living with Dementia πŸ’›

40 Varsity Estates Circle NW, Calgary, AB, T3A 2H2 [map]
1-3 hours / weekly
6 MONTHS
Do you believe in the power of human connection? We're looking for kind-hearted volunteers to provide one-on-one companionship to individuals living with dementia in our memory care community.
Why It Matters:
Living with dementia can be confusing, isolating, and sometimes lonely. A friendly face, a gentle voice, or simply sitting together in silence can bring calm, joy, and a sense of belonging. Your time and presence can be a powerful gift.
What You’ll Do:
β€’	Spend time with one resident at a time
β€’	Offer conversation, read aloud, look at photo books, go for short walks, play games, finish a puzzle, share stories, or simply sit together
β€’	Bring patience, kindness, and a warm, non-judgmental presence
β€’	Help us create moments of peace, joy, and connection
We’re Looking for People Who Are:
β€’	Compassionate, reliable, and respectful
β€’	Comfortable around individuals with memory loss (no prior experience required training provided!)
β€’	Good listeners who understand the value of simply being present
β€’	Open to learning and growing through meaningful human connection
This is a quiet kind of volunteering, but a deeply impactful one. Your presence can make a world of difference.

Location: The Manor Village at Varsity. Seniors Retirement Community.
Time Commitment: 1 hour a week / 1 hour every other week / 1 hour every 3 weeks / 1 hour once a month. Whatever time commitment you have available.

When: Weekday mornings / Weekday afternoons / Weekday evenings / Weekend mornings / Weekend afternoons
