Join Unison’s Board of Directors – Make a Difference! Unison is a not-for-profit organization that empowers individuals aged 50 and above to lead fulfilling lives. Have you ever wanted to be part of something meaningful? Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? If you have experience with not-for-profit governance and a desire to contribute your skills, Unison is looking for new members to join our Board of Directors!. The Board of Directors is a governance and policy board that meets every two months. As stewards of Unison, Directors provide strategic direction, review financial performance, and approve the organization’s annual budget. Directors also play a vital role in representing Unison at public events and strengthening connections with the community. We’re particularly seeking candidates with the following expertise: • Human Resources: Support initiatives like CEO performance reviews, director recruitment, and annual surveys. • Information Technology: Experience in managing software, hardware, programming, IT planning, or cloud computing is a strong asset. • Finance: Individuals with an accounting, finance, or business-related background to help guide financial stewardship. • Advocacy: Experience with advocacy efforts focused on improving services, policies, and quality of life for older adults. • Fund Development: Expertise in fundraising strategies, donor relations, and securing resources to support organizational growth. • Media, Marketing, and Communication: Experience developing effective communication strategies, managing media relations, social media, and crafting impactful marketing campaigns. • Diverse and Newcomer Perspectives: Reflect the rich diversity of the communities we serve and bring fresh ideas to the table.
