OUR ORGANIZATION Ups and Downs Calgary Down Syndrome Association is a registered not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization for individuals with Down Syndrome, their families, and their support groups. Our vision is to promote lifelong partnerships that foster family connections, friendships, healthy lifestyles, an inclusive community, and a future without limits. THE OPPORTUNITY The Communications Coordinator volunteer plays a critical role in the success of Ups and Downs by supporting our Communications infrastructure. They must maintain positive and professional interactions both internally and externally to ensure membership retention and growth and to uphold and grow awareness of Ups and Downs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Organize and utilize internal databases for proper communication channels and for communications to be hitting the correct target audience Perform data collection around communications; including email stats, google analytics, etc. Effective, prompt and professional internal and external communications Copy and Script development for an array of communications for both traditional and digital channels Ensure Ups and Downs is on relevant channels to engage and communicate with our membership as well as corporate donors or other key stakeholders. Work as a team with other key staff and volunteers to ensure membership satisfaction SKILLS AND ABILITIES Effective working independently and in a collaborative team Use of discretion with confidential information Able and open to learning about new technologies Comfortable participating in virtual meetings ADDITIONAL NOTES Must have access to a secure and confidential computer workstation
