Ups and Downs - Calgary Down Syndrome Association

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Ups and Downs - Calgary Down Syndrome Association is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Fund Development Coordinator (Volunteer). In this role, you’ll work closely with the Executive Director to support essential fundraising initiatives, from grant writing to sponsorship development and securing in-kind resources. This is a unique chance to gain valuable experience in nonprofit fundraising while having a meaningful impact on individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic plans to meet the Association’s fundraising goals.
Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan.
Create compelling sponsorship proposals and grant applications, ensuring timely submissions.
Research and identify new grant opportunities that align with the Association’s mission.
Engage and foster relationships with prospective sponsors and donors.
Support the planning and execution of special fundraising events.
Manage and maintain the donor database, ensuring accurate and thorough records.

Who We’re Looking For
Passionate About Nonprofits: Interested in fundraising, grant writing, and nonprofit development. Experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal skills to build and sustain relationships with donors and sponsors.
Organized and Detail-Oriented: Able to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and keep meticulous records.
Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with both staff and volunteers.

Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
Training or certifications in grant writing or fundraising are beneficial but not essential.
