As a member of the Board, the Treasurer is one of the key individuals who oversees the administrative and financial ends of our organization. Duties: • Is highly accountable for monitoring, approving, and advising on organizational investments • Makes adjustments to organizational financial forecast • Acts as a second signing authority and approves spending as needed • Keeps accurate records and assists with the filing of our annual returns • May ask to speak on behalf of We Did It! and on the financial ends of the organization • Records Meeting minutes • Attends monthly Board meetings • Maximizes public awareness regarding We Did It! School-Age Care Society. • Works alongside the Executive Director to and Fund Manager to establish a revenue forecast. • Assists other members of the Board when needed • Circulates material in a timely manner Required Skills: • A strategic thinker • Negotiator • Comfortable with networking with others • Able to organize multiple activities within tight deadlines • Demonstrates solid accounting and analytical skills • Has some word processing skills Qualifications: • Is able to make at least a one year commitment with the organization • Goal-oriented and professional • Dedicated and motivated; a self-starter & team player • Must hold some knowledge of the challenges in the non-profit sector • Have extensive experience working in the area of Bookkeeping • Must be responsible, organized, and punctual • Is able to volunteer a minimum of five hours per month • Willing to make both a personal and financial commitment SUCCESS FACTORS: The success in this role is defined by the ability to be witness to financial growth through financial analysis and funding considerations. COMMITMENT REQUIREMENTS -One 90 minute meeting per month with the Board of Directors. -2-9 hours a month to organize and maintain organizational direction -1 year term
