The Penpal program partners “Seniors” (people 55+) with grade 5 students in Canmore to get to know each other through letter writing. With the support of their teacher, each student commits to writing one letter per month to their Grand Pal and the expectation for the Grand Pal is to reply to each letter. The program has been fun and successful since 2014!
We will host two in-person events this year to encourage even greater connection – one in fall to kick off the program, and the other at the end of the school year to say “farewell.”
