Foyer Maillard
Welcome to the Société du Foyer Maillard, a vibrant non-profit that’s been brightening the lives of seniors since the swinging sixties! Born from the big-hearted dream of a French-Canadian couple in Maillardville, the Foyer was created to provide affordable homes for seniors, thanks to the generosity of local residents and the support of CMHC and B.C. Housing Corporation.
The Foyer opened its doors on May 1, 1969, offering a cozy room-and-board atmosphere where seniors could thrive. Fast forward to the 1980s, when we spruced things up with major renovations to bring in licensed care, allowing residents to stay in the comfort of their home as they aged. Then, in 2016, we unveiled a shiny new building designed just for seniors needing complex care—our first resident walked through those doors on June 7, and the celebration began!
Over the years, Foyer Maillard has evolved and grown, but one thing hasn’t changed: our unwavering commitment to making life fun and fulfilling for seniors in our community. Join us in this fantastic journey of care, companionship, and community spirit!
