Action Lab For Development
Action Lab for Development (ACTLAB) is a not-for-profit and apolitical NGO interested and involved in entrepreneurship, creative economies, and civil society work. It was founded in 2016 and legally authorized in 2018 by the government of Cameroon (Authorisation No. 79/E.29/1111/VOL.8/ALPAS of 5/12/2018). Since 2020, ACTLAB holds the Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and in 2024 it was registered as an Extra-Provincial Corporation in Alberta, Canada with CRA number 734336423RR0001
Its head office is located in Bambui–Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon, with a new branch office in Nkambe–Donga Mantung Division.
Action Lab For Development has the human resource capacity and relevant experience in funding programmes to develop, support and look after entrepreneurs and creative economies towards local communities and business ecosystems. In particular, it can count on a team of six activists led by Mr. Tfurndabi Tawong Cornelius and the support of a high number of United Nations online volunteers that support and carry on the daily activities of the NGO.
Action Lab For Development’s activities range from assisting with youth entrepreneurship, to economic sustainability, and humanitarian service for vulnerable populations (i.e., women, the elderly, youth, and persons with disabilities) and it focuses on three essential needs: Food Security; Advocacy and Education.
The main missions of ACTLAB are:
• To support local initiatives orientated towards creative innovation and entrepreneurship by providing tools and opportunities that track continuous improvement (for development).
• To educate and promote the training of entrepreneurs in terms of social welfare and fair business participation through sensitisation.
• To facilitate knowledge–sharing between entrepreneurs, institution, and other organizations by promoting networking and training activities.
• To mentor young entrepreneurs on skills and techniques that can enable a clearer view of a social business environment.
• To promote skills-based volunteering in youth and universal access to research and education by building digital platforms for community knowledge commons and supporting local ingenuity.
