Cat Caregiver - AARCS

Min. 2 shifts/month, 1 year commitment
Position Title: North Haven – Cat Caregiver

Purpose: 
AARCS mission is "Changing Lives Through Kindness"

Our rapid growth is a result of years of dedication by our amazing volunteers and foster homes. Our North Haven is located in NW Edmonton. As AARCS is primarily foster home based, our shelter is used as a quarantine and intake facility. 

Responsibilities Outlined: 
- Attend all required orientations and training sessions
- Feed and care for the cats currently placed at the shelter 
- Clean the cat kennels and litter boxes, wash dishes/toys and help with laundry
- Administer basic medications if needed
- Follow all disinfecting and quarantine procedures
- Additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications/Competencies Required:
- Understanding of cat body language and communication
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment

Training/Support:
- Initial New Volunteer Orientation
- Cat Caregiver Online Module
- Group Cat Caregiver orientation and Hands On training with shift leader
- Disinfecting workshop within 6 months of start date
- Ongoing support as needed

Time Commitment:
- A minimum of two shifts per month. Shifts times are: 9am and 6pm
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
There are two shift times per day, 7 days a week. While the shift start times are not flexible, volunteers have the ability to make their own schedule and are not required to stick to the same day/time each week.
