Northwest Director

The Alberta Native Plant Council is in search of a Northwest Director to join our Board, representing the area north of Edmonton and west of Athabasca. The key roles of this position include: - Works to conserve Alberta's natural ecosystems; - Whenever the opportunity arises, educates concerned individuals about the importance of native plants and habitats; - Helps people identify the differences between native and introduced species and the effects of introduced species to natural ecosystems; - Supports organizations that promote, conserve and educate other concerned individuals. - Promotes ANPC to local naturalist groups; - Where possible, coordinates and organizes a project that will support conservation and education of native plants through education, workshops, tours or a conservation project. Anticipated Commitment: 3-4 hours per month, September-April. Term: 2 years.
