Community Outreach Assistant

Job Summary:

The Community Outreach Assistant will supports our organization’s community engagement and outreach initiatives by assisting in planning, coordinating, and executing programs, events, and campaigns. This role involves building relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to increase awareness of the organization’s mission and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and implementing community outreach strategies and initiatives.
Support the planning and execution of events, workshops, and campaigns to engage the community.
Help maintain relationships with community partners, schools, local organizations, and volunteers.
Conduct outreach via phone, email, social media, and in-person visits.
Track and report on outreach activities, including participant engagement and feedback.
Assist with creating marketing and promotional materials for outreach efforts.
Support data collection and entry related to community programs and events.
Attend community meetings or events as a representative of the organization.
Provide administrative support to the outreach team as needed.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in communications, social work, or related field preferred.
Previous experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, or public relations is an asset.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable interacting with diverse populations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
