Summer Youth Volunteer

Applicants for the Summer Youth Volunteer Program must be students between the ages of 13 to 22. Acceptance is contingent upon completing an interview, clearing a criminal record check, and submitting a form with two character references.

Volunteer applicants must to be willing to learn and participate, and must be friendly, compassionate, and sensitive to the needs of our residents. Supervision and guidance will be available; however, a basic level of maturity and independence is expected.

We require a minimum commitment of 50 hours total any time between May 1 to August 27.

We have a variety of volunteer positions suited to our applicants’ strengths, including the following: recreation assistant, friendly one-on-one visitor, music volunteer, hair salon assistant, maintenance helper, gift shop clerk, mealtime assisting, or mealtime companion (with special training for volunteers 16+).
