Teaching English to Newcomers and Refugees
Do you want to SUPPORT adult newcomers and refugees? Become a volunteer teacher with CCI-LEX, and support refugees and newcomers with their new start while you gain valuable teaching experience. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences (no teaching experience necessary)! Currently, our greatest need is for volunteers who can teach online (via Zoom). In-person opportunities are also available, especially for those with flexible schedules who can substitute teach. We provide detailed lesson plans and a curriculum to follow, so you don’t have to worry about creating your own. Plus, you’ll have support from our involved team and join a community of passionate teachers and hard-working newcomer students.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Fluency in English Basic computer skills Ready to teach a 2 or 3 hour class a week (or sub 3-4 times a month) Able to commit for minimum 6 months Familiar with good volunteer practices
Certification or Education Required
