Heritage Fair Judge

10440 108 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, T5H 3Z9 [map]
4-4 hours
Like a Science Fair but for Social Studies, the Edmonton Regional Heritage Fair is an annual event for Edmonton-area students in Grades 4 through 9 where they present a research project of their choosing from the broad category of Canadian heritage. On fair day, students are interviewed and adjudicated by at least 3 members of the local heritage & education community who provide in-person and written feedback to the students. Overall, the day is about celebrating student success and fostering a love for history, heritage & research.

This year's heritage fair is taking place the morning of Sat, May 3, 2025, at the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre- and it will be our largest fair since before Covid!

To volunteer all you need is a passion for history or learning, active listening skills, some familiarity with the research process (i.e- primary and secondary sources, asking questions) and kindness.

A light breakfast & judges orientation will be provided the day of the fair.
