Volunteer Board Member for Elves Special Needs Society

Elves Special Needs Society is a policy-governed non-profit Society. Elves' operations provide individuals with severe disabilities and special needs who are between the ages of 2.8 to late adulthood, with Educational, Adult Day Programs, and FASD Respite Program with site-based services. Elves serves nearly 500 individuals at two locations in West Edmonton. Please visit our website at www.elves-society.org to learn more.

Elves Special Needs Society is seeking a volunteer from the community to join our 12-member Board of Directors comprised of parents and community members. Elves' Board of Directors meets 12 times per year between September and June, and during our Annual General Meeting in November. It is expected that members attend a minimum of 70% of Board meetings and when possible, serve on one or more of Elves' various committees. This position includes election to a first two-year term with election again in two years for a second two-year term.

Board members will be privy to confidential information intended to promote informed decision making. Matters related to Society operations must be treated with the utmost confidentiality and not discussed beyond the confines of Elves' Board of Directors. All Board members require a security clearance and will be required to adhere to Elves' Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest policies.
