Mental Health Copilots
Mental Health Copilots (MHC) is a non-profit organization helping individuals access mental health resources. Our volunteers work one-on-one with clients to help them find local services, understand and choose between therapy alternatives, explore cost and payment options, contact providers to request an intake appointment, and more, repeating these steps until they've found the right support. While information about mental health services may be listed on private websites or in public databases, navigating options can be time-consuming and disheartening, particularly at a time when individuals may be struggling or feeling hopeless. MHC’s free service addresses this issue by empowering and supporting individuals on their unique mental health journeys.
MHC was founded on the premise that everyone should have access to qualified mental health professionals that align with their needs and preferences. Our organization was created in 2019, and it has grown from a student-run, Edmonton focused organization with 10 volunteers to a team of more than 30 people serving all of Alberta. Our volunteers have diverse backgrounds and are united by a desire to connect individuals with mental health services.
