natHACKS 2024 Calgary Site Co-Lead
NeurAlbertaTech (NAT), Alberta's leading neurotechnology innovator network is hosting natHACKS, Canada's Neurotechnology Hackathon and Alberta's Largest Hackathon this November 14-17 across three in-person sites (Edmonton (main), Calgary, and Lethbridge). NAT is seeking up to three University of Calgary Site Leads to supervise an estimated 200-300 hackers. The leads will oversee the University of Calgary site committee, ranging from logistics, judging, mentor coordination, and all thing associated with a hackathon. NeurAlbertaTech is a federally registered non-profit organization which aims to make neurotechnology innovation accessible. NeurAlbertaTech NPO will supervise overall natHACKS administration (funding, hacker registration, hacker swag), and the University of Calgary site coordinators will deliver the hackathon to local participants. Responsibilities: • Establish a volunteer team to ensure the Calgary site is adequately staffed throughout the hackathon. • Attend a majority of natHACKS in-person (November 14-17) • Coordinate venue bookings. • Liaise with the Problem Recruitment Coordinator to support the identification of local Problem Providers. • Coordinate with Judging and Mentorship Coordinators for in-person Mentors and virtual judging setup. • Coordinate with Sponsorship Coordinator for in-person sponsor presence at the Calgary satellite event and identifying local sponsorship opportunities. • Coordinate volunteers during the natHACKS weekend. Requirements: • Previous demonstrable event coordination experience is mandatory. • Must be comfortable leading a medium-sized team. • Must be comfortable with public speaking in front of a large audience.
Certification or Education Required
The ideal candidate is enrolled at the University of Calgary in any program, graduate or undergraduate!
